Startup of the Week: ESOLIST
Esolist is an innovative web application that allows Realtors to create websites with just one click and post updates to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube from one single place. Esolist provides social metrics and website analytics across all social media platforms quantifying online social activity with listing performance. Listings are easily searched and discovered by home seekers drawn to the website every single day searching for a place to live.
Reflect a bit on where you’ve been as a business, and where you aim to be in 3 years.
We started out with just a little and have been working hard to improve our product, its value to the market, and defining those truly ‘unique’ characteristics of our startup and its place in the market. I don’t know where we’ll be in 3 years, but I’m working to ensure we’ll be a successful company.
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve overcome?
A user acquisition strategy – When we launched Esolist, we believed “If you build it, they will come”. Well it doesn’t really work that way. You have to work at defining what your value is to the users (free and/or paid) you’re trying to get and the smartest and most cost-effective ways to get in front of them.
What remains the biggest obstacle?
That’s a great question. We encounter obstacles here and there whether it’s in product development, marketing, user acquisition, or partnerships. Our challenge is to ensure decisions we make will put us in the best situation to succeed.
Are you currently looking for financing?
We just completed fundraising. As we grow, we’ll be engaging in future rounds.
